the spiritual worldThen he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia.” (Daniel 10:13-13 NLT)

There is a great deal more about this universe than meets the eye. There is an unseen world where a conflict is taking place. A conflict of good and evil, light and darkness, God and satan. In Daniel, the veil of the spiritual world is partially and momentarily pulled aside, and we are allowed a glimpse into the unseen world. In this intrusion into the spiritual realm, we are introduced to the kingdom of satan, which is still alive and well today. It is a kingdom that is well organized and powerful. For twenty one days, there was a battle in the heavens. A battle so intense, that Michael the archangel would be sent to open up the way. Let me ask you. What makes us think things are any different today? It’s not. We are faced with an enemy whose whole purpose is to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10) He will do anything he can to kill your dreams, steal your joy, and ultimately destroy your life. But just as Michael was sent to open up the way, Jesus came that we might have life and that more abundantly. (John 10:10) Today, this powerful evil organization has been defeated. Satan has no power over you. Jesus holds the keys to death, hell and the grave. (Revelation 1:18) Today, we can walk in victory, knowing that God causes us always to triumph in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14 KJV)
